SUBJECT: 500s: Student affairs EFFECTIVE: May 2, 2014
Section: 501 Student Finance

  1. A Student Finance (SF) global service indicator shall be applied automatically by Campus Connection within the Student Finance module to an individual campus student account with a balance of $300 or more that is 91 calendar days or more past due. The indicator will be removed automatically when the outstanding balance falls below $300.

  2. The SF global service indicator shall prevent a student from registering, adding classes, or receiving transcripts from any NDUS institution. Exceptions may be made based on the mutual agreement of all impacted institutions; exceptions for subsequent registrations require the written agreement of all impacted institutions.

  3. Institutions must individually run the nightly credit history process for the SF global service indicator process to function properly.

  4. Institutions that have written off delinquent balances shall manually place a SF global service indicator on those accounts. Upon full repayment of such balances, institutions shall manually release the SF global service indicator.

  5. Students shall have the ability to view the SF global service indicator in Campus Connection, and must engage with the institution generating the SF global service indicator to resolve all outstanding or previously written-off balances in order to restore their ability to register, add courses, or obtain transcripts from NDUS institutions.

  6. The SF global service indicator for all institutions shall read: "Due to an outstanding past-due balance at (insert institution name), your future NDUS enrollments and transcript requests have been put on hold. Please contact (insert institution name) to determine what action is required."
