Daniel J. Klenow, head of the emergency management department at North Dakota State University, traveled to Toronto to serve on an accreditation committee for the Postsecondary Education Quality Assessment Board, Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities for the province of Ontario. As chair of the accreditation committee, he coordinated a review of the first emergency management undergraduate degree being proposed for Ontario. He also served in a similar capacity for the Commission for Academic Accreditation in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Klenow said NDSU's emergency management program serves as a model for other programs as its faculty have published work on curriculum development and emergency management professionalization.
