Stadium updates won't affect college or high school football games
Renovations to the North Dakota State College of Science Earl "Skip" Bute Alumni Stadium began earlier this summer and will continue throughout the fall of 2014. With both college and high school football season opening games just days away, here's the latest on stadium updates.
Main public parking will be located on the east side of the Blikre Activities Center (BAC) with minimal parking available on the west side of the stadium. Temporary crosswalks will be set up in an effort to direct pedestrian traffic; however, drivers are cautioned to drive slowly on 14th Street during game days.
Public outdoor restrooms will be available on the northwest side of the stadium with separate facilities for team members located around the Frank Vertin Field. Indoor restrooms will be open in the BAC through halftime and can be accessed by entering the south doors.
The concession trailer will be set up on the north side of the stadium in front of the fence. Concessions may also be available on a limited basis inside the BAC. Catbacker seating and tents will be set up underneath the stadium. All pre-game and tailgating events will be held on the oval parking lot directly in front of the BAC.
Season kick-off for the Wildcats is slated for Thursday, August 28 versus Mayville State JV at 6 p.m., while the Wahpeton Huskies are scheduled to take the field against the Breckenridge Cowboys on Friday, August 29.
