SUBJECT: 400s: Academic affairs EFFECTIVE: April 12, 2017
Section: 402.2 Admission Requirements for Baccalaureate Programs

  1. As referenced in Policy 409 3 candidates for the Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) that have completed an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) prior to admission to any NDUS B.A.S. program of study and are not subject to this procedure.

  2. Admission to all other baccalaureate degrees is subject to the following admission requirements specified in State Board of Higher Education (SBHE) Policy 402.2.

  3. Applicants for admission must complete 13 high school core course requirements including four units of English; three units of mathematics (algebra I or above); three units of laboratory science, including at least one unit each in two or more of the following subject areas: biology, chemistry, physics, or physical science; and three units of social studies, excluding consumer education, cooperative marketing, orientation to social science, and marriage/family.

    In addition to the requirements detailed in NDUS Procedure 404.2, applicants seeking admission at North Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota for fall 2017 must a complete a total of 14 core course requirements. The additional one unit of coursework can be selected from the categories listed above or world language (including foreign languages, Native American languages, or American Sign Language).
