Dustin Penner tweets a lot.

But on Jan. 11 shortly after scoring his 300th career NHL point, the former Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjack gave an interesting hashtag shout out.

"Thanks for all the congrats tweets ducks fans on my 300th point. #itsamiracle #started frombottineau," Penner tweeted.

The two-time Stanley Cup winner gave his alma mater a little love.

"Who would have thought that someone who played Junior College Hockey would go have a career like that. Unbelievable," stated Jacks hockey head coach Travis Rybchinski. "We are so happy for Dustin and his family. It has been a great story and there are still many more chapters left."

Penner played for the Jacks in 2001-02 after being cut by his hometown Winkler Flyers three times.

He then went on to play at the UniverŽsity of Maine and eventually the Anaheim Ducks, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings and now back with the Ducks.

He is currently 17th in the NHL with a +20 +/- and has 27 points in 42 games, sixth best on the Ducks.

Penner plays on a line with the NHL's third leading scorer Ryan Getzlaf, who has 60 points this season. The Ducks easily have the best record in the NHL right now at 39-10-5, with 83 points and are in first place in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference.

As far as when the 31-year-old's NHL dream finally comes to an end, Rybchinski said that the Jacks will celebrate his career.

"When Dustin's career is over we will have him come down to Bottineau and celebrate his career and his achievements," Rybchinski said.

Perhaps he'll tweet about it.
