DSU's BSN program receives maximum accreditation

Posted on 8/30/2013

On Aug. 8, the Department of Nursing at Dickinson State University received official notice from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) that the baccalaureate in nursing degree was afforded the maximum 8 year continuing accreditation.

The ACEN Board of Commissioners noted the support by the administration and community for the program as an "area of strength." Deliberations centered on the self-study report, the university catalog, the site visitors' report and the recommendation for accreditation proposed by the Program Evaluators and the Evaluation Review Panel.

Additionally, Dr. Sharon Tanner, CEO of the ACEN, informed the department the next scheduled evaluation visit will be spring of 2021. For more information on the DSU Department of Nursing, visit www.dickinsonstate.edu/academics.
