Dickinson State University alumnus and 15-time NAIA All-American Ramon Miller secured the team gold medal as he ran anchor leg for the Bahamian men's 4x400 relay team earlier today. This is the first time a Bahamian men's 4x400 relay team has won a gold medal in this event and also the first Bahamian gold medal at an Olympic games earned by any Bahamian men's team. Miller also represented the Bahamas in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dash during the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games.
"I'm just incredibly excited for Ramon. I don't think you could have scripted this any better for him and his country," said Pete Stanton, head track and field coach at DSU. "Ramon is a quality individual and has represented himself, his family, his country, and our university to the best of his abilities. This was definitely a landmark day for Ramon, the Bahamas and Dickinson State University."
