DSU's Russ co-authors chapter in educational textbook Posted on 6/20/2012
Dr. Suzanne Russ, assistant professor of education and psychology at Dickinson State University, has recently co-authored a chapter entitled, "Best Practices in Assessment for Eligibility Identification." The chapter was written in collaboration with authors B. Chiang and S. Skoning and is included in the textbook "Research-Based Practices in Special Education" by B.G. Cook and M.Tankersley. The textbook is published by Pearson Education and will be released in 2013.
"The textbook attempts to tailor the wide range of recommended practices in special education to those that have a sound empirical foundation," said Russ. "In our chapter, we identified the best empirical processes for determining whether a child is eligible for special education. This book fills a need for a sound summary of research based practices in special education."
Russ has been teaching classes in both education and psychology at DSU since 2008.
