NDSU to honor John Deere Electronic Solutions as Campus Community Partner

Posted on 11/9/2016

NDSU is set to host its fourth annual Campus Community Partnership flag raising honoring John Deere Electronic Solutions. The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m., at the NDSU Flag Plaza located in the southwest corner of campus at 12th Avenue North and 18th Street.

The company has a long-standing partnership with the university and the NDSU Research and Technology Park, with more than 650 employees at its John Deere Electronic Solutions locations in Fargo. About one-quarter of those workers are NDSU graduates. Each year, approximately 10 NDSU graduates are offered positions with the company.

"We are very proud that the electronics design for many Deere products is done at the research park. Electronic components also are produced at their manufacturing facilities in Fargo, and they are assembled into Deere products sold throughout the world," said Chuck Hoge, executive director of the NDSU Research and Technology Park. "John Deere is an iconic brand known for their outstanding products and exceptional service, and the company has proven to be a strong partner and friend of NDSU."

The company hires NDSU students as part of their internship program and supports student research activities. The company brings world-class knowledge and processes to NDSU.

Deere, founded in 1837, is a global company with headquarters in Moline, Illinois. The company's distinctive leaping deer logo is instantly recognizable on its agricultural, construction, forestry and turf care equipment. The worldwide company does business in more than 130 countries and is well known for its core values of integrity, quality, commitment and innovation.

NDSU President Dean L. Bresciani established the Campus Community Partner program in 2012 to recognize private sector collaborations with the university that benefit the community.

As a student-focused, land grant, research institution, we serve our citizens.
