Lake Region State College Nursing progarm seeks public comment

Nursing program seeks public comment



Lake Region State College Nursing Department wishes to announce that it will host a site review for initial accreditation of its associate degree nursing program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

You are invited to meet the site visit team and share your comments about the program in person at a meeting scheduled at 3:00 PM on November 10, 2015, at Lake Region State College in the Bergstrom Technical Center, IVN Room 274.

Lake Region State College has offered nursing education at a distance to Langdon, Grafton, Cooperstown, Carrington, and Northwood in the past. Lake Region State College currently offers its practical nurse and associate degree nurse (RN) programs at its campus in Devils Lake and in Mayville. The practical nurse program also is offered in Grand Forks.

Participants from Mayville will meet in the Mayville State University Library IVN Room 120 C and participants from Grand Forks will meet in the LRSC Nursing Center at 1425 Columbia Road in Grand Forks.

Written comments are also welcome and should be submitted directly to: Dr. Marsal Stoll, Chief Executive Officer, Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, Ga. 30326. Comments also can be sent via e-mail to mstoll@acenursing.org.  

All written comments should be received by the ACEN by Monday, November 2, 2015.

Established in 1941, Lake Region State College is a comprehensive community college. The college offers education in a variety of career and technical programs including wind energy technology, automotive technology, electronics, sign language interpreting, precision ag, marketing, business, and associate arts (transfer) degree for those planning to transfer and pursue a bachelor’s degree.  Besides offering courses and degrees at its campus in Devils Lake, the college delivers its peace officer training program in Minot each spring, Bismarck each fall, Grand Forks and Fargo each summer; delivers nursing education in Mayville and Grand Forks; offers courses and degrees at the Grand Forks Air Force Base Education Center; offers a program called LAUNCH! that serves students in Grand Forks planning on transferring to UND; offers numerous degrees and courses online; and delivers early entry and dual credit courses for eligible high school students.
